Sightseeing
Traditional regional establishments are always worth a visit. The event distillery Lantenhammer in Hausham, for instance, invites you to a tasting session of various brandies, liqueurs and whiskies. The natural cheese dairy in Kreuth also has a number of different types of cheese available for you to try. At the open-air museum of double Olympic champion Markus Wasmaier, you can experience historical Bavarian rural life. Alternatively, you can have a look behind the scenes of the art of Bavarian beer brewing in the private brewery at Aying. And of course Herrenchiemsee, the castle built by Bavarian King Ludwig II, is always worthwhile checking out.
Active to sportive activities
No matter whether you prefer to get around by bike or on foot, several routes for walking, hiking or cycling start right on our doorstep. Within a radius of 10 km, three superb 18-hole golf courses with a wonderful view over the Alps await you. If you continue driving (approximately 45 minutes), you will reach the beautiful Mangfall Mountains with boundless possibilities and options all year round. We are happy to assist you with the planning of your activities.
Spa and relaxation
If you just feel like pampering yourself and enjoying the soothing effects of water, heat or a massage, then a visit to a thermal spa is the right decision. You can indulge into relaxation in both Bad Aibling (20 minutes away) and by Lake Schliersee (30 minutes away).
For families
The mountain animal park Blindham is situated only two kilometres away from Aschbach. The park is a marvellous destination for family outings as you find several domestic animals in enclosures with walk-in provision accessible to visitors as well as a giant playground with anything your children may dream of.
A visit to the “Bavarian Camels”, located only 3 kilometres away, is a truly exotic experience. Whilst camelback riding through the valley of the Mangfall mountains, you will be gently rocked by these sweet-natured animals. You will also be able to gather a lot of information about the world of these fascinating desert animals.
If you are seeking a little bit more action, you are well catered for at Blomberg Mountain. Amongst other things, you will find one of the longest summer toboggan runs in Germany, which is heaps of fun even without the snow. In case you want to opt for an even more intense option, you can try out the Blomberg-Blitz (= flash of lightning), an Alpine rollercoaster suitable for any weather or season.
